Located near Bayfield and along Lake Superior's western coast, the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a collection of 21 islands and 12 miles of mainland, hosting a unique blend of cultural and natural resources. The national lakeshore encompasses a 720-square-mile area on the Bayfield Peninsula and in Lake Superior. Visitors can enjoy hiking, paddling, sailing, as well as pristine views of the park's historic lighthouses, sandstone cliffs, sea caves, and miles of pristine shoreline.
